Project insight of the app of our customer Lern-Fair

Lern-Fair is a non-profit organisation with the vision of "fighting together for equal education and opportunities for all". The team has been honoured several times, including with the German Engagement Award, the most important award for civic engagement in Germany. The non-profit organisation offers free learning support with the help of a digital platform - more precisely, its web application - by bringing together volunteer tutors with educationally disadvantaged pupils. This gives financially disadvantaged pupils the opportunity to take advantage of individual tutoring or attend group courses. The platform currently has over 16,000 registered users and over 1,000 courses on offer - including on socially relevant topics such as bullying and social health.

Solution

Lern-Fair now offers a fully functional learning platform on which users can easily manage their appointments and be informed of important events via in-app notifications. All communication between students and teachers takes place directly on the platform via an integrated chat and video function.This results in a significantly improved user experience, more control from Lern-Fair, reduced support requests and better Google ratings.The web application has now been expanded to includeIntegration of video chatIntegration of the chatIntegration of the appointment functionIn-app notificationsThe design of the platform follows the corporate identity guidelines and achieves both a high recognition value and improved usability.

The web application now embodies the corporate identity, has enhanced features and an optimised user experience.Technically, the solution was developed as open source. This means that third parties also have the opportunity to access the written code and learn more about programming. Here too, Lern-Fair's philosophy is to share knowledge and make it accessible to everyone.We also made sure that the application can later be used as a progressive web app. This has the advantage that it can be saved on the home screen - like a native app - and does not feel like an application in the browser.The application can later be used as a progressive web app so that it can later be saved on the home screen.User feedback on the improved app

The challenge: scaling failed due to manual processes

Abimanufaktur GmbH, which specializes in graduation newspapers, was facing a growth problem: the third-party app it had been using was inflexible, offered a poor user experience, and could no longer meet the complex data export requirements for Adobe InDesign.
